Villages
Last week a group of kids decided to make a village on a little used area of forest by the big creek. We sometimes refer to it as the "peninsula" since it's surrounded by water on 3 sides. They made stick forts and other little homes using fallen branches and played there throughout the week. The village inspired a lot of creative dramatic play as well as discussions about sharing resources, potential dangers, and whether or not there should be a leader of the village.
On Friday the Fairywood Foxes class decided to create a tiny gnome village in the same area. They used carving knives, twine, paint pens and forest materials. They named it "Gnomevill"
This is Bean, the Mayor of Gnomevill, and a pinecone dog.
We're excited to add more to the stick fort village and Gnomevill next week!
