Sam Sondgerath

Sam was an assistant teacher in the Early Childhood Program at Harmony School for 12 years, where she spent the majority of her time with the children outdoors. She is a textile artist with a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Indiana University in weaving and works on a traditional floor loom. Sam has taught weaving, dyeing and sewing to children of all ages. She enjoys swimming in lakes, hiking the hills Brown County, and foraging for wild edibles.

Chris Barth

Chris has been working with preschool children for 12 years now. He began at the Bloomington Developmental Learning Center and then as a lead teacher in Harmony School’s Early Childhood Program. Chris has always had a deep connection to the natural world and loves living in the forest with his partner Sam. After learning about the concept of forest schools they became determined to start their own, and so Fairywood came to be. Chris graduated from Indiana University with a BA in English and is also a renowned songwriter in the Bloomington music scene.

Mandy Enstrom

Mandy has been working with infants and preschoolers at Harmony School since 2012 and is so happy to be at Fairywood. She got her BA in English at IU and lives in Brown County. Mandy loves camping with her family, singing with friends, mediocre crafting, and watching the bird feeder.
