The past couple weeks each class has gotten to take a special field trip! The Monday class went to the Goat Conspiracy Sanctuary, the Tuesday class went to Seven Ridges Farm, and the Wednesday class went to a section of Yellowwood State Forest by Fairywood.
Our intern Jac works at the Goat Conspiracy and invited us out for a Monday field trip. We had a wonderful time meeting the goats and exploring the field by Salt Creek.

Tuesday we hiked up Fairy Mountain to Seven Ridges Farm where we got to see ducks, turkeys, chickens, and a baby mourning dove that they were caring for. We also harvested chickweed, redbuds, violets, and onion grass that we added to a big bowl of salad greens from the farm to eat!

On Wednesday we hiked in to a remote section of Yellowwood State Forest that borders Fairywood. We hiked up a big hill to a spot with fallen pine trees called Tree Fort. We then went down to a special place called Rocky Ravine that is full of large rocks and steep slopes. We explored the pools of water and played a game called "Get Lost" where a group of blindfolded kids gets guided away from the group and then they have to find their way back.
