May Notes
We've been enjoying the warmth and spending lots of time swimming and splashing in the creek this month. Toads seem to be everywhere and we made some habitats for them. We've been planting flower seeds and discovering new wildflowers in the forest. We've also been building with blocks and building stick forts for our stuffies. We made nectar for the hummingbird feeders and lots of pretend baked goods in the sandbox and mud kitchen. One of our favorite group games has been Towhee Towhee Drink Your Tea. We have a lot of Towhee birds at Fairywood and they have a distinct, melodic call that sounds like they're saying "drink your tea." On May Day we celebrated with a big bonfire and lots of the kids have been focusing the powerful sunlight to start solar fires with the magnifying glasses.
